Sanitary Plate / Flat Flange
The Sanitary Plate Flange, also known as a Flat Flange or Flat Weld Flange, is a flat circular disc with bolt holes designed for connecting pipes, valves, and equipment in low-pressure hygienic systems. Unlike weld neck flanges, plate flanges have no raised hub and are welded directly to the pipe end with a single fillet weld. Their simple, flat design makes them economical and easy to fabricate, while the smooth polished surface ensures compliance with sanitary standards. Plate flanges are the most commonly used flange type in sanitary piping due to their versatility, wide availability, and cost-effectiveness. They are manufactured from SS304 or SS316L and conform to DIN, SMS, IDF, and 3A standards.
